The American Dallas Mavericks Basketball Club will accept bitcoins to pay for tickets for matches and various related fan products.
The club, owned by billionaire Mark Cuban, the second in the National Basketball Association (NBA) announced support for cryptocurrencies. The first was the Sacramento Kings team, which added this option back in 2014.
Possibility to use bitcoin by a basketball club appeared after his partnership with the payment company Bitpay.
“We want our fans who want to pay with bitcoins to be able to do this. BitPay will allow our fans around the world to buy products from Mavericks, ”said Kuban.
Note that the billionaire changed his attitude towards cryptocurrencies back in 2017 and advised millions of his Twitter subscribers to invest in bitcoin.
Recently, the American football team Miami Dolphins announced that it will accept payments in Litecoin cryptocurrency, and the Portuguese club Benfica announced that its fans will be able to buy souvenirs with payment in cryptocurrencies.
