Dell unveils XPS 15 and 17: features, availability and prices of new laptops

Dell XPS 15 and XPS 17 they are official: anticipated in recent weeks by the images taken from the company website and the technical sheets published by mistake, the two laptops represent the brand's new proposal regarding the XPS family of laptops. Updated version the first (XPS 15 2019 is the previous model, see our review), completely new product the second: here is Dell's proposal, with prices starting from $ 1,300 for the 15.6 ", from $ 1,500 for the 17 ".

Both offer a durable and lightweight aluminum body, as well as a new hinge for the movement of the InfinityEdge display. The screen is available up to (optional) 4K UHD resolution and integrates Eyesafe technology for blue light reduction. Just above the display is the small HD webcam, which with microphones with echo cancellation and noise reduction is the ideal solution for video calls (now a must in this emergency period). Security passes through the fingerprint reader integrated in the on / off button.

Among the innovations introduced on XPS 15 and 17 we find Waves Nx 3D audio, technology through which when you wear headphones or listen to music from the built-in speakers the movement of the head is traced to align the direction of the sound.

The laptops are also available in the Creator Edition version, designed specifically for those who create multimedia content and for creatives. Inside will be pre-installed programs for video editing and graphics.

Dell calls it "the smallest 17" laptop on the planet ": it is certain that the ultra-thin edges allow it to contain dimensions (18×344.72×230.14mm) and"having a 17 "computer 48% smaller than the 15" laptops currently available on the market". Inside we find the 10th generation Intel Core processors and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU with Max-Q design.
