Despite the warnings, people still have favorite passwords for everything

The topic of network security is a rollout almost all the time. Despite this, many people still have favorite passwords that they use for more than one account.

Passwords for everything are passwords for nothing

Unfortunately, that’s the truth. Security experts continue to urge you to use unique passwords for each of your accounts. We are also reminded of this during the registration processes. Unfortunately, despite the warnings, many people still set their favorite, usually easy to remember, password wherever they can. Convenience in this case means vulnerability to hacking attacks.

PCMag recently conducted a survey among US residents. There were 1,041 respondents over the age of 18. It turned out that 70% of respondents use their favorite password for more than one account, with 25% sometimes using the same password again and 21% – all the time. Reusing passwords is like asking for an attack.

The website also asked about how to store passwords. Here, only 33% of respondents replied that they use a password manager. Most, as much as 36%, simply write them down physically, and 24% – on a phone or other electronic device.

Not very good results, right? Therefore, we will once again remind you that online security requires unique, hard-to-break passwords for each of your accounts. To protect yourself, it’s best to use managers who will come up with difficult strings and store them safely.
