Even more efficient mining with the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti LHR thanks to EVGA

OwnSnap reported that mining on the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti LHR made more sense as miners found a way to get higher performance. The tool for this was inadvertently provided by EVGA, but the workaround does not require having its model at all, thanks to the option of flashing the BIOS.

The case was publicized by a certain @bravo_char, who posted information on Reddit on how to improve the performance of the 3080 Ti. According to him, most RTX 3080 Ti with default BIOS has a hidden power limit that activates during periods of high memory load. This in turn is characteristic of the cryptocurrency mining burden, which EVGA has decided to “fix” its miners.

It did this through an appropriate amendment, which is accessed by owners of GeForce RTX 3080 Ti cards from EVGA through firmware updates. This can be done using the EVGA Precision X1 software and enjoy increases of several dozen percent, from 66 MH / s to 80 or even 91 MH / s.

Owners of other grids only have one choice – they need to install the EVGA RTX 3080 Ti XC3 BIOS with the updated firmware and install it on a third-party RTX 3080 Ti. However, it is worth remembering that this type of game is dangerous for such a modernized card.
