NVIDIA could expand its video card offering with a modello entry level which could be called GeForce GTX 1630. The US company’s goal would be to introduce a more competitive solution than AMD’s Radeon RX 6500 XT and RX 6400.
The new GeForce GTX 1630, according to rumors collected by Videocardzon the one hand to renew the tradition of the NVIDIA “30” models (GT 730, GT 1030), on the other hand to refresh an offer that has practically crystallized for over three yearssince the release of the GeForce GTX 1650.
In the NVIDIA Ampere era, the least powerful model is the GeForce GTX 3050, introduced in January with a list price of $ 249. AMD, for its part, has renewed the offer with two RDNA 2 models such as the 6500 XT and the 6400 which, although not exciting in terms of performance, support all the latest graphics technologies. The two cards have list prices of $ 199 and $ 159 and, according to AMD, offer a better price-performance ratio than NVIDIA’s solutions.
The GeForce GTX 1630 should replace the GTX 1050 Ti and, according to rumors, it could be based on a Turing TU117 GPU. Compared to the model it should replace, it would also boast GDDR6 memory and may not require power through a PCI Express connector. The rumor at the moment is very vague on the specifications, as well as on the price and availability of this card: it may not arrive worldwide but only in specific regions.
