The GeForce RTX 3090 is a very powerful GPU that drives any game at the quality and resolution we desire. A little more performance would give even more potential to the high-end card of the greens. Although we have to be realistic that that extra performance comes at a cost of 100W more in consumption, at least that is what preliminary tests of the RTX 3090 Ti carried out by CapFrameX, a hardware monitoring software, indicate.
The first impressions of the tester that were published on Twitter, they say the RTX 3090 Ti is about 10% faster than the RTX 3090 at 4K. The high-end video card is clocked at 2.0 GHz and consumes 450W.
The RTX 3090 Ti will arrive with the full GA102 GPU, and this will give it 2 SM more than the base RTX 3090, giving 10752 CUDAS cores, against 10496 in the RTX 3090. Also, the new high-end card will have more memories fast at 21 Gbps and higher frequencies. The sum of all this is 10% more performance compared to the base version.

As some commented on the CapFrameX post, it’s not hard to achieve this performance difference by overclocking an RTX 3090, and we won’t have the cost of 100W more. Along with that, the RTX 3090 Ti most likely won’t come in at just $100 more than the RTX 3090.
NVIDIA has not yet released the price of the RTX 3090 Ti and will do so tomorrow, a day before Intel reveals its first Arc GPUs.
