GeForce RTX 4090, according to rumors the debut ‘sled’ in October

There has been a lot of debate over the past few weeks release date of the new NVIDIA GPUs of the family GeForce RTX 4000. In recent days there has been talk of a possible debut in August, perhaps towards the end of the month, perhaps with a launch with great fanfare at Gamescom in Cologne.

In general, however, the arrival of a new generation of GPUs always tends to skip the summer (or at most anticipate it) and according to new rumors, even this round will be no exception. The GeForce RTX 4090 is expected to usher in the renewal of the US manufacturer’s offer, followed by the RTX 4080, the RTX 4070 and the RTX 4060.

According to the sources of Wccftech, the GeForce RTX 4090 is expected to debut in Octoberfollowed a month later by the 4080 model. The GeForce RTX 4070, on the other hand, is expected to hit shelves in December, while the GeForce RTX 4060 is expected to be announced at CES 2023 in view of a debut in the same month or at the latest in February. Among other things, for the latter, it is rumored of a TDP beyond that of the RTX 3070, therefore higher than 220W.

The more extended timing compared to the previous rumors could be linked not only to the will of wait for potential buyers to return from holidaysbut also the need to allow partners to empty the shelves in recent months of the GeForce RTX 3000. Also, NVIDIA may need more time to produce the GPUs in view of a launch in better quantities than those of the 3000 series.

Obviously take this information as indiscretions, we will continue to monitor any developments pending official communications. The GeForce RTX 4090 is expected to be based on an AD102 chip with 126 active Streaming Multiprocessors for a total of 16 128 CUDA cores. On board, they should find 24 GB of GDDR6X memory at 21 Gbps on a 384-bit bus like the 3090 Ti, for a bandwidth of about 1 TB / s. By virtue of these specifications, the card would have a TGP of 450W, similar to that of the RTX 3090 Ti.
