GeForce RTX 4090, then 4080 with 16 and 12 GB of memory: the picture is getting clearer

Crossing indiscretions and own sources, the site Videocardz claims to have a pretty clear picture of Technical specifications of the GeForce RTX 4090 e 4080the latter model apparently ready to arrive on the market in two variants.

As for the GeForce RTX 4090the card that should usher in the RTX 4000 series with a strong GPU AD102 with 16384 CUDA core active. For this solution it is rumored a Boost Clock up to 2520 MHz. The memory, 24 GB of type GDDR6Xwould instead be set to 21 Gbps for a bandwidth of about 1 TB / s thanks to bus a 384 bit.

Regarding the TGPthat of default would be equal to 450W, like the RTX 3090 Ti, but according to Videocardz, “the maximum configurable TGP is 660W. This is the maximum TGP that can be set by the BIOS, and may not be available for all custom models”. The RTX 4090 is expected to debut on the market in the first half of October.

The GeForce RTX 4080instead, it looks like it will come in two versions. This possibility has been talked about for several weeks and the continuous rumors make this possibility more concrete. The most powerful model would have a GPU AD103 con 9728 CUDA core able to push itself in Boost clock according to NVIDIA a 2505 MHz. Next to the graphics chip there should be 16 GB of GDDR6X memory at 23 Gbps on a 256-bit bus, for a bandwidth of 736 GB / s. The TGP, on the other hand, would be set to 340Wbut NVIDIA would allow partners to arrive with custom models up to a maximum of 516W.

The other GeForce RTX 4080 it should have instead 12GB of 21Gbps GDDR6X memorywith a bus to 192 bit which would bring the bandwidth to 504 GB / s. In the past, this amount of memory had been charged to the RTX 4070 Ti or the RTX 4070, but apparently NVIDIA would have decided to offer a pair of RTX 4080s. The two models of the RTX 4080 should arrive on the market in the first two weeks of November.

The GPU on board this solution would be one AD104 con 7680 CUDA coreaccompanied by a boost frequency of up to 2610 MHz. As for the TGP, the default value would be 285W, while the maximum limit would be 366W.
