Gigabyte shows the Geforce GTX 980 Ti G1 Gaming

With the Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 Ti officially launched, it is literally crowded with lavish variants during Computex 2015. Gigabyte has the GTX 980 G1 Gaming, which is the company’s new flagship in the top segment.

The main issue is the latest revision of the Windforce 3X radiator. That means three fans and enough metal to be able to handle a TDP value of as much as 600 watts. On the back is a black lacquered cover plate, and the whole package occupies just over two expansion places.

Among other details, it can be mentioned that Gigabyte is investing in a semi-passive mode also in the performance segment. At temperatures below 65 ° C, the fans are completely still, which guarantees silent operation. Also new is the opportunity to change the color of the LED lighting behind the Windforce logo, where seven different modes are available.

The circuit board is Gigabyte’s own design and differs from Nvidia’s reference variant via, among other things, better voltage regulation. Extra power supply is handled via dual 8-pin PCI Express.

The exact clock frequencies for the Geforce GTX 980 Ti G1 Gaming have not yet been determined, although the on-site staff suggests that this is a lot of extra performance. According to Gigabyte, however, additional finesse is needed to land at optimal levels.

Despite this, the company hopes to be able to send out test copies already at the end of the week, with a store launch planned for the end of June. What the price tag lands on is still unknown, but a certain mark-up against the reference model’s SEK 7,499 is undoubtedly to be expected.
