Google patents the Pixel tablet, and the first renderings show inspiration with the company’s new smartphone

A patent filed by Google has appeared. We learn from it that the company plans a Pixel tablet with thin frames and rounded corners. The first renders of the device also appeared.

As is the case with patent applications, this one was filed two years ago (in March 2019), but only recently the Japanese Patent Office (JPO) approved and published it. The documents show us the design of the device, but do not reveal any details of the specification. However, this did not prevent the artist known as Snoreyn from creating the first renderings.

But first, let’s take a look at what the patent drafts reveal. Unfortunately, we do not see details of buttons, inputs or even cameras on them. You can notice rounded corners and very thin frames, thanks to which the screen covers most of the front panel. On the back, we see a rectangular surface with the manufacturer’s logo on it.

When creating his renders, Snoreyn was inspired by Google Pixel 6 smartphones, which can be seen in the characteristic power and volume buttons. The Pixel tablet in this edition looks really nice, although you have to remember that it is only the imagination of the graphic artist. There is also no certainty whether such a device will be created at all.
