NVIDIA can fix the mistakes of the past by bringing back its little monster of the previous generation at such a bad time for the graphics market. According to the current information, the GeForce RTX 2060 will be back for sale, but in a much better version.

The GeForce RTX 2060 was once the cheapest and weakest card in the RTX family (the RTX 3050 family changed that). It wasn’t perfect. As something like the GTX 1070 on steroids, and not just another mainstream “sixty”, the 6 GB VRAM deck of this card was very problematic.

The solution to this problem is very simple – increase the GDDR6 memory twice, and although it still leaves the older generation Tensor and RT cores on board, we should not complain now, should we? In fact, we cannot even be 100% sure whether the GeForce RTX 2060 12GB will hit the market at all. This is only unofficial information that found its way to the pages of the Videocardz website. According to them, NVIDIA will reach for the older generation of cards and thus the Turing architecture, combining the TU106-300 core with 12 GB of GDDR6 memory. Apparently, these cards will hit the market in January 2022 to improve the current market situation and patch the shortage of Ampere cores.
