Graphics card prices have dropped by up to 25%. Take a look at the extensive comparison

Tom’s Hardware has prepared an extensive comparison, according to which the prices of graphics cards have dropped by up to 25%. The statistics cover the average price of all cards available on eBay during January and February, typically revealing a decline of around 10%, but there are also exceptional raisins that have fallen much more.

According to the latest data, the prices of graphics cards have dropped

The times when buying a graphics card at a price close to the retail price are long gone. With the onset of the pandemic, increased demand and limited supply did their job, but with the decline in cryptocurrency prices, improvements in the supply chain and factories, and the announced transition of Ethereum from PoW to PoS, card prices begin to decline.

All graphics cards began to depreciate, although specific versions may occasionally experience increases due to their rarity. In the end, most, 20 of the 33 cards mentioned above, recorded double-digit percentage drops in prices, and the average is lowered by the already cheap RX 5500 XT in the 4 and 8 GB versions. The problem is that the most popular RTX 3080, RTX 3060, RX 6800 XT and RX 6600 in terms of price-performance ratio are still sold at high prices. Only the RX 6600 breaks the pattern with its 140% MSRP level, but the RX 6800 XT is already 80% more expensive, and both NVIDIA RTXs are twice as expensive as they should be.

However, there is still a long way to the MSRP level, because prices are over 35% higher than the level of retail prices. It is even more visible in Poland, which suggests that if the current trend is maintained, we will receive decent prices in a few months. Maybe three, maybe six – you just have to hope that the market will not come to a catastrophe again.
