Intel Arc graphics cards will arrive in May / June 2022 with similar performance to the RTX 3070 Ti

It appears that Intel’s Arc graphics cards will be available a little later than originally planned. And since everything comes in the world of PC hardware, that’s normal, component shortages and shipping problems hit everyone. And now thanks to YouTuber Moore’s Law is Dead we know that the 128 EU SOC2 GPU (computing units) It will be a paper release for notebook computers, so the supply will be very limited. The high-end SOC2 for desktop PCs that will compete against the RTX 3070/3070 Ti is scheduled to be released in April, but it is unclear if it will hit the market in the same time frame, this may take a month or two.

The SOC1 reference models are expected to be ready for implementation in the middle of the second quarter or May, while the AIB (enterprise) models will be physically ready in April. The actual release date will be dictated by the status of the drivers, firmware and software in general, this is something that Intel said months ago. Finally, the actual launch will happen at the end of the second quarter with mobile GPUs, it will be a launch sometime in June. The desktop PC cards could arrive earlier, probably in May or the end of April.

In terms of performance, Intel is targeting the entire market and neglecting what is top of the line. Then there will come a card with 512 EU (computing units) to compete with the GeForce RTX 3070/3070 Ti, one with 384 EU to compete with the RTX 3060/3060 Ti and, finally, a 128 EU GPU to compete with the RTX 3050/3050 Ti.

On the mobile side, all GPUs from the low-end MX450 to the high-end RTX 3080 will be the target of Intel’s Arc graphics cards.
