Intel Core i9-9900K tested in 3DMark

By far the most important processor from the 9th generation Intel Core has just appeared in the 3DMark database. How did the performance of the phenomenally promising Intel Core i9-9900K fare in the TimeSpy test?

At the beginning, I would like to mention that the representatives of the 9th generation of Intel processors have been promising for a long time, but it is the i9-9900K system that everyone has the greatest hopes for a significant leap in performance. After all, this model will be more powerful than the limited i7-8086K … which, however, turned out not to be very efficient. Will the performance in 3DMark TimeSpy erase the not-so-glorious performance of the i7-9700K from the pre-release test? As a reminder, the i9-9900K will have 8 physical cores (just like that – this is Intel’s first consumer processor with this number of cores) supporting Hyper-Threading technology. Its base clock is expected to reach 3.6 GHz, but this one will increase to 4.7 in boost mode for all cores.

Cool numbers, huh? Let’s move on to what follows from them. Well … quite a lot, although the noticeable advantage over the Ryzen 7 2700X in such synthetics is not very reliable. On the basic Intel Core i9-9900K clock it reached 10,916 points and 36.68 FPS, and on the 4.8 GHz clock – 11459 points and 38.50 FPS. If we compare it to the best AMD proposal, i.e. the mentioned Ryzen 7 2700X systems, we will notice a difference of 3.96 FPS and 1174 points. On the one hand, it heralds an advantage in games … but what? We simply cannot predict this.
