It looks like the company’s new processors will hit the ground running with the upcoming SSDs, and proof of this is that Intel hits 13.7GB / s with a PCIe 5.0 SSD at Alder Lake.
The information comes through the videocardz medium and Ryan Shrout’s official Twitter account. Shrout is chief performance strategist at Intel, and before the COVID cancellations happened in the CES 2022, I planned to demo the PCIe 5.0 SSDs during the next exhibition. Due to the cancellations, Intel has decided to make the presentations entirely online.
At CES 2022, Intel had planned to demo a PCIe 5.0 SSD with a team that mounted its Top-of-the-range processor Intel Core i9-12900K, but since it couldn’t be done physically, Shrout decided to demo anyway.
So from the Ryan company he received a sample of the Samsung PM1743 PCIe 5.0 SSD, comparing it with the latest western digital WD Black PCIe 4.0 SSD which exceeds 7 GB / s and the Samsung PCIe 5.0 which goes up to 13.7 GB / s.
Perks of the job! Was going to save this demo for #CES2022 but with that off the table, why not just share it with everyone right now?! Here’s a 12th Gen @intel Core i9-12900K system paired with a new @Samsung PM1743 PCIe 5.0 SSD getting over 13GB/s!! pic.twitter.com/oyL08KzDtV
