Intel says Xeon vs. Epyc fight is like a knife fight, AMD says they brought a knife to a gun fight

The battle between AMD and Intel is hotter than ever, and we hardware enthusiasts are not only benefiting from ever more powerful hardware as both companies are striving to stay on top, but also from the laughs they bring us. phrases like the one you may have already read in the title.

During a recent interview with Bloomberg, the CEO of Intel, who apparently did not have enough to say that they now look at AMD through the rearview mirror on desktop, assured that the fight between AMD EPYC and Intel Xeon in servers is so even that it is assimilated to a knife fight inside a phone booth. AMD quickly went on the attack, and Account Manager for Dell Global at AMD, David Melendrez, said on Linkedin that it was a decision to bring a knife to a gun fight, implying that EPYC processors are much more powerful than conventional processors. Intel Xeon.

AMD EPYC processors are really offering very good competition to Intel, surpassing them in practically every way in terms of raw power and I/O. Even so, many companies continue to trust Intel because of its track record and because they already know how they handle themselves, buying their product even if it is less powerful.

The battle this year will be interesting as both companies have high performing products with Sapphire Rapids and Genoa, so the companies will continue to battle for the position of best company throughout 2022 and beyond.

And what do you think about AMD’s response to the statements of the CEO of Intel? Do you think they are correct?
