A few days ago, Huawei revealed to us the release date of its next foldable smartphone. Mate Xs 2, that is the one folded “inside out”, will debut today, but before that, we got some additional information.
Fans of the brand have been waiting for this model for a long time, especially since, according to leaks, Mate Xs 2 is expected to bring a lot of improvements over its predecessor, especially in terms of battery capacity. However, according to the TENAA certification, it will have a capacity of 4500 mAh (the same as its predecessor), but with fast charging support with 66 W. It will be powered by the Kirin 9000 or Snapdragon 888 chipset, in both versions without a 5G modem. There will be a 50-megapixel main camera on board, next to which the manufacturer will place a 12 Mpix ultra wide angle lens and an 8 Mpix telephoto lens.
This time it was revealed to us that the smartphone will be available in three color variants – Black, Purple and Off White. More importantly, however, in the video, Yu Chengdong, the CEO of Huawei BG shared information on improving production capacity and the supply chain, which may mean that there will be no problems with the availability of the smartphone. It also confirmed numerous improvements compared to its predecessor. This applies to the convenience of the device, but also to the protection of the screen against falling. Apparently, in the case of Mate Xs 2 there is no problem with this. Moreover, its thickness and weight are now quite close to a regular smartphone. The screen is wrinkle-free and more durable.
Of course, these are only the company’s assurances, and these will be verified by independent tests, which will probably start to appear in the coming weeks.
