Lasers will defend the US against ballistic and hypersonic missiles

Such consent was granted under the National Defense Authorization Act for 2022. Interestingly, the law also underlines the compulsion to prioritize the development of this technology and the management of its transfer to industry “in order to support future operational-relevant capabilities.” The agency itself must be satisfied with this turn of events, as confirmed by the words of Riki Ellison, who heads the Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance. This pointed out that this law in a way restores the funding and responsibility MDA had previously had to implement targeted energy technology programs.
