Mercedes-Benz Actros are fifth generation semi-automatic trucks

This time we have the opportunity to admire the fifth generation semi-automatic Actros trucks, which were presented to us by Mercedes-Benz, which is under the wings of Daimler.

The fifth-generation Actros may not be fully autonomous, but their advancement will definitely make it onto the dream list of every professional truck driver. They have been stuffed with a whole lot of new technology, based on solutions that Mercedes-Benz has been famous for on the European market for many years. The fifth generation Actros trucks are also equipped with Active Drive Assist, which enables semi-automated driving. This translates into automatic braking, acceleration, maintaining a safe distance from avoided cars and obstacles on the road, and even changing lanes. The Friday-generation Actros is currently produced at the Mercedes-Benz factories on the River Rhine. It was announced that it would be widely available “later in 2018”.
