Mercedes throws gloves to Tesla cars with their EQC

And very well. Why? Because each new player on the new market is simply worth its weight in gold, if we want to get the lowest prices and the best products. And I think that’s what we want, right? Especially in the electric car market, where Mercedes-Ben officially appeared with the EQC model.

Fortunately, this is not an announcement straight from those that we will feel “in the near future”. The company has already revealed that the premiere of the first fully electric car will take place at an event in Stockholm next Tuesday. The history of the tergo car itself, however, is much longer, because Mercedes already in 2016 announced the new brand “EQ”, which has only now resulted in the EQC model. This one, of course, belongs to the aforementioned family of the future, i.e. the EQ, which is supposed to bring the ordinary consumer closer to electric cars.

The EQC itself has already been presented and as an electric crossover it will come out against the Tesla Model X, for example. It is 4.761 meters long and 1.884 meters wide, while the wheelbase itself is 2.873 meters. This translates into 2,425 kilograms, of which a solid contribution is made by two electric motors on the rear and front axles and 80 kWh of batteries. These 300 kW engines are capable of generating 410 horsepower and 765 Newton meters of torque. Result? From zero to hundreds in 5.1 seconds, although the top speed met the top limit of 180 km / h.

The issue of battery life was solved quite efficiently, because the rear engine only starts when the EQC needs a little more power. The battery itself is supposed to last for 450 kilometers, which will cost a 40-minute stop at a fast charging station … as long as we are satisfied with 80% of 10%. The car’s system will offer five driving modes (Comfort, Eco, Sport, Individual and “Maximum Range”) and will occasionally give the driver a driving tip.

The whole thing is completed by a voice assistant, original interface, navigation, Mercedes Me system, battery lock in the event of an accident, a refined interior and oval body. All this in the EQC model will hit the market in the middle of next year. Its price is expected to start at $ 50,000, but these are unofficial assumptions so far.
