Microsoft The acquisition of new studies has been taken quite seriously, and proof of this is that the company has published this week a job offer in which they are looking for a manager to help you evaluate future acquisitions in the video game industry.

“The Strategy and Game Development team serves as the corporate strategy function for Team Xbox,” the job posting for a “Manager of Strategy and Game Development” states.

“We partner closely with the Gaming leadership team to identify and assess transformative growth opportunities. Our role includes helping answer Microsoft Gaming’s most challenging business questions, leading Gaming’s M&A program (e.g. , Activision Blizzard, ZeniMax, Double Fine, etc.), and identify and understand key industry dynamics.”

Based on the description, the winning candidate’s responsibilities will include “support strategic decisions with quantitative and qualitative rigor“, identifying trends key consumption / technology / business” and “developing and evaluating the business case for content and technology acquisitions (M&A)“.

M&A activity in the gaming industry hit a record $85 billion in 2021 and is forecast to hit $150 billion this year, with big deals like Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard and the purchase of Zynga by Take-Two that have already been announced in the first months of 2022.

Among the latest rumours, the possible release of Ubisoftwhere Microsoft could be one of the main interested in its acquisition along with Sony, of course.
