More and better AI applied for the benefit of gamers

Powered by RTX cores, DLSS 2.0 is a new and improved deep learning neural network that increases frame rate while generating beautiful, sharp images in your games. It gives you the performance margin to maximize quality settings and increase output resolution.

DLSS 2.0 offers the following improvements over the original:

  • Superior image quality – DLSS 2.0 offers image quality comparable to native resolution, while only representing between a quarter and a half of the pixels. Employ new temporal feedback techniques for sharper image detail and better frame-to-frame stability.
  • Great scalability across all RTX GPUs and resolutions – A new AI network uses tensioner cores more efficiently to run 2 times faster than the original. This improves the frame rate and eliminates the above limitations on what GPUs, settings and resolutions could be activated.
  • A network for all games – The original DLSS required to train the AI ​​network for each new game. DLSS 2.0 is trained using non-game specific content, delivering a generalized network that works on all games. This means faster game integrations and ultimately more DLSS games.
  • Customizable options – DLSS 2.0 offers users 3 image quality modes – Quality, Balance, Performance – that control the game’s internal rendering resolution, with Performance mode allowing up to 4x super resolution (i.e. 1080p → 4K ). This means more options for the user, and an even greater increase in performance.

In addition, from today there are patches available for games, which can take advantage of this new version of DLSS.

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries Gets NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 Today!

The game will get a graphics update through a patch today that enables NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 technology. In MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, DLSS 2.0 improves performance from 30% to 75% using the “Quality” mode, all while maintaining, and in some cases even improving, image quality.
