Next generation graphics cards will require more efficient cooling solutions

Refrigeration component suppliers in Taiwan expect a lot of work in the second half of 2022. Next-generation graphics cards will drive demand for high-performance cooling systems. This type of high-performance product, with top quality materials and a lot of investment in engineering, offers higher margins for suppliers.

The new graphics cards in what are the top-of-the-range models, They will consume between 450 to 600W. With that said the math is simple, with that much power comes great responsibility, when it comes to a GPU, as heavy workloads need to be accompanied by more efficient cooling solutions.

Is what is currently on the market enough to handle the new generation of video cards?

Both AMD and NVIDIA are gearing up to launch MONSTER GPUs in the second half of this year. Companies like Auras Technology and Sun Max are preparing some surprises. In the case of Auras, the team is working on different types of vapor chamber refrigeration for laptops, but they are being kept under wraps for now.

Sun Max, in addition to being optimistic about the scenario ahead, highlights that it already sees an increase in sales volume and profitability. The company invested around $2 million in ventilator research and development in 2021 and filed hundreds of related patents.

How much we’ll have to worry about changing cooling solutions to accommodate next-gen GPUs remains to be seen. Neither AMD nor NVIDIA have officially commented on the potential of their cards.
