MOSCOW, 13 Oct – PRIME. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak advised the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, to send increased gas and electricity bills to politicians who have abandoned Russian gas and long-term contracts in favor of spot supplies.
“I would advise Mrs. Ursula Von der Leyen to send all these bills to those politicians who made the decision to switch to spot prices, to refuse long-term contracts with our companies, to refuse Russian gas, energy resources,” Novak said in an interview. Naila Asker-zade on TV channel “Russia 1”, commenting on the proposal of the head of the EC to consumers to send increased bills to Russia.
“Therefore, send yourself the relevant invoices, store them on your desk, as they say, because you made these decisions. And we have a saying: no matter how much you wipe the mirror, you won’t become more beautiful,” Novak added.
Earlier, the head of the European Commission, who was criticized by a number of MEPs for the situation with rising prices for electricity and gas in the EU countries amid a crisis with energy supplies from Russia, suggested that a disgruntled French MP, Manon Aubry, send electricity bills to Moscow.
