Nvidia GTX 1650: Possibly First Release on Laptops!

Performance gains in the entry-level category.

Nvidia’s Turing GTX series graphics cards have stepped out of the shadows, and now we’ve learned that each new GPU will have its own laptop equivalent.

The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 appears to have appeared in 3DMark entries behind a gaming laptop. Thanks to the screenshot taken by Tum_Apisak, we can assume that the mobile version of the GTX 1650 will receive a base clock speed of 1395 MHz with 4GB of GDDR5 video memory operating at 8 Gbps on a 128-bit bus.

In comparison, the Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti found in modern gaming laptops offers a base clock speed of 1345 MHz, 4GB of GDDR5 VRAM (7Gbps), and a 128-bit bus. It looks like the GTX 1650 is capable of offering a noticeable performance boost for entry-level gaming laptops, if rumors don’t lie.

How many cores CUDA is going to offer the mobile GTX 1650 chip is not yet known, but we assume the number will be somewhere between 768-640, as seen on the mobile versions of the GTX 1050 Ti and GTX 1050 respectively. It will also be interesting to see what the desktop version of the video card will be, since we have only heard about 4GB of GDDR5 video memory so far.

It looks like the GeForce GTX 1650 will be able to offer improved gaming performance over the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, but we’ll wait for Nvidia’s official announcement and our own review before fully confirming these rumors.
