Nvidia is gearing up to release two new high-performance graphics chips in the next couple of months, which indicates the likely release of the new RTX 3080 Super and RTX 3070 Super graphics cards as a complement to Nvidia’s next-gen GPU series.

The brand new SKUs, first discovered by kopite7kimi, are the latest graphics that could complement Nvidia’s growing line of Ampere graphics cards. While the names of the new SKUs are not known, Wccftech notes that there is ample reason to believe (and not believe) that the new cards will be the RTX 3080 Super and RTX 3070 Super.

Skeptics will be quick to remind you how many variants of the RTX 3000 series were in the design phase, but according to rumors, many video cards were “canceled”, which suggests any number of different video cards behind the new SKUs, starting with the RTX 3050 and ending with the RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3080 Super. It is impossible to find out the truth until the release itself.

On the other hand, it is widely reported that Nvidia planned to release the RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 with huge video memory headroom, but agreed to (relatively) less video memory due to the lack of GDDR6 modules in the second half of 2020. Memory shortages should stop being an issue in 2021, allowing Nvidia to roll out super-models of its graphics cards.
