BFGPU may not be as powerful as it looks.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 will see the light of day later this week, but an early review suggested that it may slightly outperform the RTX 3080.

The review comes from the Chinese publication TecLab, which tested the RTX 3900 assembled with an Intel Core i9-10900K, 1TB M.2 SSD and 32GB of DDR4 RAM clocked at 4133MHz.

While recently published benchmarks showed the $ 1499 RTX 3090 (RUR 97,500 + VAT) 20% ahead of the $ 699 RTX 3080 (RUR 45,000 + VAT), TecLab’s results show that the leading GPU Nvidia Ampere may not be as powerful as we are. decided at first, and not as powerful as the first tests showed.

The RTX 3090 outperforms the RTX 3080 by approximately 10% in 16 tests, data gathered from the now-deleted Videocardz survey shows.

For example, in 3D Mark Time Spy Extreme, the RTX 3090 scores 9940 points, which is 10.5% more than the RTX 3080, but in games like Rainbow Six Weight and Forza Horizon, the video card outperforms its more affordable option by 5.8% and 4.7% respectively.

The biggest performance gains were seen in Death Stranding (with DLSS off), where the RTX 3090 ran 11.5% faster than the RTX 3080.

But these results are disappointing when we factor in the price difference between the RTX 3090 and the RTX 3080.

However, given that the RTX 3090 does not appear to offer the same level of performance as promised by Nvidia, it is likely that the bottleneck of the new graphics card is software. If so, we could count on performance improvements after the official release of the graphics card.

The Nvidia RTX 3090 will go on sale September 24 for $ 1,499 (RUR 97,500 + VAT).
