New Nvidia graphics card on tests

Nvidia Teases GeForce RTX 2080 In Official Promo Video!

In addition, we received the first tests RTX 2080.

Nvidia appears to have shown slightly more than Turing and the first RTX graphics cards, as the company is sending in a few Easter eggs pointing to the Nvidia GeForct RTX 2080 in the promotional video.

Astute Reddit users have noticed several clues pointing to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 in the “Be For The Game” video that Nvidia unveiled at the Siggraph conference. Throughout the short trailer, you can see the usernames and the following captions – RoyTeX, Not_11, Mac-20, Eight-Tee, and so on.

Together with the guys from Reddit, we disassembled the video and made separate designations, all of them are presented below:

  • RoyTeX — RTX
  • Not_11 – Not 11 series
  • Mac-20 – 20 series
  • Eight-Tee – 80
  • AlanaT — Alan Turing
  • Zenith20 – 20 series
  • Ray – Raytracing
  • give me 20 – 20 series
  • 50.968495,7.014026 – GPS coordinates that indicate a location in Cologne, Germany. This is where Nvidia is hosting the GeForce Gaming Celebration during Gamescom.
  • You may have also seen the numbers 2,0,8,0.

With all this in mind, we’re pretty sure Nvidia’s next graphics card will actually be the GeForce RTX 2080. The question is what goals Nvidia pursued by throwing those Easter eggs.

By the way, during Turing’s announcement and everything that happened on Siggraph, a new “Nvidia graphics device” appeared in the Ashes of Sungularity database and whistled past the Nvidia Titan V record.

The new secret graphics card seems to hit an average frame rate of up to 75.1 FPS while playing Crazy 4K. This is an impressive result as we were able to squeeze about 59 fps down to Ultra 4K with the combination of an Intel Core i9-7980XE and an Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti.

It looks like the Nvidia graphics card was paired with a fairly old Intel Core i7-5960X Haswell Extreme Edition processor, so we can only imagine how high the performance of the graphics card is with a modern Intel Coffee Lake or AMD Ryzen 2nd generation processor.

While we’re hoping that the Nvidia graphics card that ran the benchmarks is an Nvidia GTX 2080, it could be any of the Quadro RTX cards announced by the company. In any case, very soon we will find out the whole truth, but for now we are waiting for Gamescom, which will be followed by the almost inevitable release of the next generation of Nvidia GeForce graphics cards.

Meanwhile, here’s everything we know about AMD Vega cards.
