OBS, native support for Nvidia’s noise removal technology

Not just compatibility with new games or performance improvements for new drivers GeForce Game Ready 466.11 WHQL di Nvidia. The new release is required to support the integration of the noise removal (Noise Removal) di Nvidia Broadcast inside Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), the popular free streaming management software.

Nvidia Broadcast was born instead as a support software to eliminate background noise, remove backgrounds without the need to resort to a green screen and keep the streamer in the frame by automatically following its movements.

Until now OBS and Nvidia Broadcast acted like two worlds divided but at the same time connected, but with the new beta version of OBS Studio 27 there is a change: Broadcast’s Noise Removal feature is natively integrated into OBS, thus allowing all software users with a GeForce RTX card to automatically eliminate noises such as keyboard typing, annoying static microphone effects and any other unwanted noise at the touch of a button.

Streamers who want to try the feature must download the new beta of OBS Studio 27 (actually a Release Candidate), download Nvidia’s new Game Ready driver and l’Audio Effects SDK di Nvidia Broadcast. Or, and perhaps more advisable, wait for the new stable version of OBS Studio, it shouldn’t be long. Below is the step-by-step explanation, in English, to activate the feature:

To use the new feature, open OBS, right click on your audio source in the Audio Mixer, select “Filters”, click on the “+” on the lower left of the new Filters window, pick the “Noise Suppression” filter, enter a name, click on the new filter in the list, expand the “Method” dropdown, select “NVIDIA Noise Removal”, tweak the intensity based on how loud your background noises are, then close the Filters window. NVIDIA Noise Removal is now active.

The new drivers support the latest Mortal Shell, a Cold Symmetry “soulslike” action RPG available last August, which today receives the so-called RTX Updateit introduces ray traced shadows and DLSS technology for owners of GeForce RTX cards. According to Nvidia, the activation of DLSS allows increase performance in 4K “up to 130%”.

Another novelty concerns Nvidia Reflex, the company’s technology to reduce system latency, e Valuing. Nvidia has in fact updated the technology to improve the Boost Mode, an optionally activated mode designed to improve the effectiveness of Reflex in scenarios where the CPU acts as a bottleneck.

A recent SDK update has “further reduced system-related latency” in certain scenarios where there are many objects to render to the screen at one time. According to Nvidia this update it can reduce system latency in Valorant by up to 16% on such occasions.
