Radeon RX 6900 XT over 3.3 GHz, the record of OGS overclockers thanks to Navi 21 XTXH

The arrival on the scene of the Navi 21 XTXH selected GPU aboard some models of Radeon RX 6900 XT represents a development perhaps not very interesting for the common enthusiast, but without doubt a new object of fun for overclocker.

A few weeks ago, the well-known der8auer managed to hit 3.2 GHz under liquid nitrogen, but with the spread of the GPU in the hands of his colleagues, we knew that sooner or later the record would fall. In recent days the Greek team OGS ha brought a PowerColor RX 6900 XT Ultimate at over 3.3 GHz, to be precise 3321 MHz.

In recent weeks, major manufacturers have announced new RX 6900 XT cards featuring this selected variant of the GPU capable of operating at higher frequencies: Asus ROG Strix LC TOP, Sapphire TOXIC Extreme, PowerColor Red Devil / Liquid Devil Ultimate and ASRock OC Formula are some of the models announced so far.

In addition to the higher factory frequencies, these solutions are due to the Navi 21 XTXH effect they see their maximum frequency limit go from 3 to 4 GHz, and it is for this reason that only months after the formal debut of the RX 6900 XT we see records above 3 GHz thanks to liquid nitrogen. In addition to the remarkable result in terms of frequency, the card hit over 41,000 points in the 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme graphics test and an overall result of over 37,000 points (37618 to be exact).

And it is precisely the stability of the card in the synthetic test, something that had not been proven by der8auer, to suggest that new records could soon fall: 3.4 or even 3.5 GHz are not that far off!
