Raja Koduri wants to bring gamers more than a million Intel Arc GPUs a year

The GPU situation has reached an extreme point, with interesting GPUs going out of stock immediately or selling at outrageous prices, and brands bringing out products that might never have existed in a normal market, like the Radeon RX 6500 XT or RTX 2060 12GB. , practically mocking consumers for the current context. That’s why PC Gamer made a request to Pat Gelsinger for Intel to take action on it with the release of its Arc GPUs, to which Raja Koduri he replied that they are working on it.

I’m with you, @pcgamer. This is a huge problem for PC gamers and the industry itself. @IntelGraphics is working hard to find a path towards the mission – Put millions of Arc GPUs in the hands of PC gamers every year

If it could accomplish this, Intel would significantly increase the supply of this market, which has an unprecedented demand that completely affected it. Unfortunately, in practice this is difficult to do, since the shortage of chips is something that not only affects the PC industry, but any industry that requires the use of chips. We have already seen how automakers have stopped manufacturing certain vehicle models for not getting enough chips for their systems, and there are dozens of examples in other industries that have also been affected at this time, where practically everything has chips.

It’s not even known when the first Arc GPUs will hit the market (rumored to be between May and June), though it seems that Intel is working so that when this happens, there will be a good number on the market. If they really offer performance and technologies similar to those of their competitors, with decent drivers and a reasonable price, they could be a relief for this market with so much demand and remedy the situation a bit, although we will have to wait a few more months to find out.

And what do you think? Will Intel be able to make these millions of Arc GPUs a year and help improve the market situation a bit?
