Raptor Lake processors could have up to 55% more cache than Alder Lake, improving their gaming performance

Although there are still several months to go before its arrival, in recent weeks we have already been hearing multiple rumors and leaks about Raptor Lake, and in this case information about its cache was leaked, which would be significantly increased compared to Alder Lake, improving its performance in games and other tasks that have heavy cache usage.

Information was originally revealed by user Raichu, who has made several correct leaks about AMD and Intel in the past, who simply tweeted ā€œ68MB cache is interestingā€. Later in the comments he stated that this is the amount of L2+L3 Cache that Raptor Lake will have, showing that it will have a huge increase over the 44MB of L2+L3 Cache that Alder Lake has.

To visualize the Raptor Lake Cache distribution, user Olrak posted a diagram showing all the high-performance ā€œRaptor Coveā€ cores and high-efficiency ā€œGracemontā€ cores that Raptor Lake will have along with their respective L2 and L3 cache, confirming that it will have a total of 36MB of L3 cache + 32MB of cache L2, compared to 30MB of L3 cache + 14MB of L2 cache that Alder Lake has.

Along with the rest of the improvements in the architecture that Raptor Lake will bring, its addition of additional high-efficiency cores, and its new power system that allows it to reduce its consumption, the 13th. Generation will undoubtedly have to fight against the new AMD Ryzen 7000 processors based on Zen 4 that will arrive on the AM5 platform at the end of the year. With these increases of both companies, the great beneficiaries are the users, who increasingly have more options with more performance to choose from, and without a doubt by the end of the year there will be excellent options from both companies.
