Razer with a Kickstarter campaign with a goal of almost $ 1 million

Tell me this is a joke. I am begging you. Razer has started a fundraiser on Kickstarter, in which he will be looking for founders of the left-handed version of the Naga Trinity model. I want to raise (note) $ 990,000, which is ridiculous.

I don’t want to specifically slander the company, but I just can’t help myself. I understand if Razer was just launching its debut mouse model … but with something that only needs to be redesigned from an existing model? Does this amount of work require nearly a million dollars from the founders? I sincerely doubt it, even if it would amount to any special big changes to the factories producing parts. After all, there are only subtle changes to the laminate, side panels and maybe the shape of the buttons themselves. However, it is definitely not something that requires such investment.

Especially on the side of the company that maintains a high position on the market. Imagine a similar action on the Samsung side for the new Galaxy smartphone or even AMD for the new processor. Such a thing by big producers simply shouldn’t happen, because (in theory) crowdfunding campaigns should be played by small companies or ordinary people with an innovative idea. Of course, Razer defends his move with the desire to minimize risk at the production level, but he himself says that the left-handed edition of the Naga Trinity will be very popular.

But let’s stop complaining and move on to the details of the campaign. This one is simple – after earning $ 990,000, Razer will start producing a left-handed edition of its legendary Naga Trinity mouse, which is still one of the top MMO models on the market. You will get its left-handed edition with a special mousepad for $ 120, and the mouse itself for $ 99. However, you can always agree to just the $ 19 mousepad. In terms of price, it is not too bad, but I still think that such an action by such a large producer should not take place. Even though it is doomed (but is it for sure?) For success.
