In the face of the pandemic and the increased attention that we have been devoting to hygiene for over a year, it is good to surround ourselves with equipment that will passively take care of our health. Therefore, in its ultrabooks, Acer primarily used one key solution, which is to protect their surface against germs and microorganisms. I am talking about a special coating with silver ions that fights them on a regular basis and which was found on the surface of the housing, fingerprint reader, keyboard, screen, top cover and feet.

Due to the fact that ultrabooks travel with us literally everywhere, it has become an important aspect for us to implement a measure that will ensure a high level of protection against bacteria, especially now during the Covid-19 pandemic. An antibacterial agent that was used, among others in Acer Swift 5, Chromebook 713 Spin Enterprise and Acer Spin 5 in the form of silver ions, meets the requirements of the BPR and EPA regulations. Moreover, this solution shows a consistent reduction factor for many species of microbes and bacteria as determined by JIS Z 2801 and ISO 22196 tests.

Thanks to the use of the aforementioned coating, it is no longer necessary to use additional protective measures in the form of special antibacterial covers or chemical sterilizing agents. In addition, Acer also made sure that we had as little contact with the equipment as possible, which is the responsibility of the Cortana digital assistant, which answers questions even in the “Modern Standby” mode.
