Robots building robots at a Swiss factory ABB

Swiss company ABB, headquartered in Zurich, announced its new project for a factory in Shanghai for 150 million dollars. It will include robots building robots, which of course will not be fully automated.

Much more important in this news is the fact that ABB plans to include another factory producing robots. These days, after all, are nothing special, because even small production plants use many of them. It must be admitted, however, that the constructs of this company are really interesting and certainly more useful than we may assume at first glance. The new factory will mainly include single-arm YuMi robots in the small-piece assembly department. The whole will be supplemented by SafeMove2 software throughout the factory, which will ensure the safety of both people and the robots themselves.

This ABB facility is set to be the world’s most advanced robot factory, with work scheduled for completion in late 2020. On an area of ​​75,000 feet, there will even be a research center for the development of artificial intelligence. Its creations, in turn, will be mainly destined for other factories in China.
