Sony Xperia 5 IV can be powered by the latest Snapdragon

Almost a year has passed since the premiere of Xperia 5 IV, so it’s high time for its successor. Sony Xperia 5 IV appeared in the latest leak, which indicates that the manufacturer will use the latest Qualcomm chipset.

Sony Xperia 5 IV appears in leaks

The information that appeared on Weibo reveals a lot of the specifications of the new Sony smartphone. According to them, the device will have a small size, because the screen diagonal is to be only 6.1 inches. So it will be the perfect model for anyone who doesn’t like big phones. The new Xperia, however, is to be a bit heavier than its predecessor, because it will weigh 180 g compared to 168 g. Gorilla Glass Victus will provide protection for the screen and backs.

As we already mentioned, the Sony Xperia 5 IV is to be powered by the SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which will be produced in TSMC factories, not Samsung. Taking into account other reports, it may not be the current flagship from Qualcomm, but a variant with a plus, which is to come out of the hand of TSMC. The battery is expected to be larger than in the Xperia 5 III (4500 mAh), which is good news. There will also be a 3.5mm headphone jack on board.

Of course, the leak also revealed the most important information, i.e. the specification of the cameras. The main camera will use the IMX557 12-megapixel 1 / 1.7 sensor with 1.8 µm pixels. Next to it there will be the IMX663 telephoto lens with a resolution (1 / 2.93 “, 1.22 µm) and a dual lens with focal length, plus a 12 Mpix ultra wide angle camera (IMX363, 1 / 2.55”, 1.4 µm).
