Back at Corsair today for their latest DDR4 memory, to stand out a little more from the competition, the brand has decided to add what is fashionable these days, namely LEDs! Indeed the “hype” wants that all components must have light now (fans, motherboards, graphics cards etc ..), memory therefore does not cut and it is to the delight of people who love to display their material.
The Vengeance LEDs are available in capacities ranging from 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) to 64 GB (4 x 16 GB) for frequencies ranging from 2666 to 3400 MHz, and this with white or red LEDs as you wish! Today’s test kit is a 2 X 8 GB model clocked at 3200 MHz with white LEDs, all for a price of around € 110.

The Corsair Vengeance LED 2 X 8 GB 3200 MHz DDR4 kit is of course made to operate in “Dual Channel”, whether on the X99 or Z170 chipsets from Intel. The heatsinks are black equipped with red or white LEDs depending on the model.
Compatibility requires the modules to have a base rate (or SPD) of 2133 MHz for latencies of 15-15-15-36 at a voltage of 1.2V, which should ensure full compatibility with all motherboards. In order to reach the rates for which the kit has been tested, the XMP 2.0 profile is present, ensuring a frequency of 3200 MHz for latencies of 16-18-18-36 at a voltage of 1.35V. Note that all memory modules exceeding 2133 MHz are considered overclocked, since the memory controllers integrated into Intel processors operate at this frequency.
As we can see the price of the kit is a little higher than those tested at Conseil Config so far, the high frequency as well as the LEDs are not foreign, at 110 € we are about 25 € more than a 2133 MHz kit at the time of this writing.
