Slowly but surely, custom graphics cards based on the latest GPUs from AMD, the RX 5700 and 5700 XT are slowly showing the end of their nose. After testing the first Sapphire model last month, the RX 5700 XT Pulse, Sapphire is still in the spotlight today but with its biggest monster, the Radeon RX 5700 XT Nitro +!
On the program, triple fan cooler given to be silent (and that’s not bad when you know the sound level of the reference RX 5700 XT), RGB and a whole bunch of other features that we will discuss. The price of the beast is set at 480 €, it is 30 € more than the Pulse and 55 € above the MSRP of the reference design, which is dangerously close to the price of entry-level RTX 2070 Super. .

Technical characteristics

The Sapphire Radeon RX 5700 XT Nitro + is therefore based on an AMD Navi 10 XT GPU, engraved in 7nm and equipped with 2560 shader units supported by 8 GB of GDDR6. For more information on this architecture, we invite you to read our file published for the release of the Radeon RX 5700!
Unlike the Pulse which was rather wise in terms of operating frequencies, the Nitro + tries to push the GPU to its limits. Indeed, the base frequency is fixed at 1770 MHz, against 1905 MHz in game mode and 2010 MHz at most. The Nitro + therefore displays an increase of between 85 and 100 MHz compared to its little sister. And above all, the 50th anniversary variation coming directly from AMD is finally exceeded by a few tens of MHz.
To do this, Sapphire still had to increase the TDP of the card which goes to 265 Watts under load, it’s starting to do.

The memory, still 8 GB of GDDR6 was unfortunately not affected, it operates at 1750 MHz like all other cards. It’s a shame because GDDR6 2000 MHz chips exist, the Nitro + would have been a perfect candidate to pass the course.
