The 2019 Kia Niro will debut with an all-electric release

After the hybrid and the plug-in hybrid, it’s high time for the fully electrified Niro 2019. This one has already appeared at CES 2018, but only now has Kia decided to officially premiere the Kia Niro EV in the United States at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show.

However, this crossover that has been patched by Kia is not the crossover we would simply expect. The Niro has a high roof, but this does not translate into a considerable overall height, which is completed by the lack of all-wheel drive (here for the front). So it seems that the Niro is so referred to mainly for advertising reasons, because crossovers are extremely popular now. The electric motor on board the Niro 2019 delivers 201 horsepower, while providing almost 400 Newton meters of torque. It is powered by a battery with a capacity of 64 kWh, which (according to earlier assurances) reached a range of 379 kilometers on a single charge in European tests.

It is hardly a record-breaking achievement, but the Niro will boast a quick-charge system that can charge the battery to 80 percent in 75 minutes or provide 161 kilometers after 30 minutes at the station. In terms of appearance and equipment, it is similar to the two previous hybrids. I am talking about the 7-inch touch display, traditional technologies for the Kia group. Speech incl. about adaptive cruise control, collision warning and lane departure warning system, its assistant or monitoring of blind spots and driver’s attention.

The prices of the Niro 2019 EV will be announced soon, and the car will take care of the Kia electric car statistics along with the refreshed Soul EV.
