The Core i9-12900KS would arrive on March 3, its complete specifications are filtered

At ShopBLT a US PC store you can find two Core i9-12900KS CPUs. The store is offering the CPU for $780 USD and an unspecified model labeled ‘P5’ for $792 USD. Intel typically offers CPUs for OEMs/system builders who don’t need the box, and the P5 is boxed like we’re used to seeing.

Both offers seem to indicate that the Core i9-12900KS will be available in three weeks at the latest. One of the 12900KS models has an ETA of 3 weeks, while the other speaks of March 3 as a possible availability.

On Twitter, @momomo_us has more information on the CPU, as well as its maximum turbo power. It appears that this chip will be clocked 300 MHz higher than the 5.5 GHz of the original 12900K model, but it will also be clocked 200 MHz higher than the 3.4 GHz.

Also, it is said that the base power (PBP/PL1) will increase from 125W to 150W and the maximum power (MTP/PL2) will go up to 260W. This is respectively an increase of 25W and 19W.

The Intel Core i9-12900KS is the next Alder Lake-S architecture flagship processor with 8 full efficiency and 8 performance cores and a total of 24 threads. As the store suggests, this model will cost more than the original model, however, 780 USD is too much, considering that many i9-12900K CPUs can offer the same performance with a little overclock. The benefit of using a KS-series CPU is that factory specs do not void your warranty, which is not the case with any other Alder Lake CPU.
