The Geforce GTX 700 series is approaching

Today’s graphics card generation is complete with models in almost all price ranges. This usually means that attention is focused on the next step in development, but new graphics processors and manufacturing techniques are delayed. However, this does not prevent Nvidia from developing a new series of graphics cards for launch in the summer months.

According to SweClockers, Nvidia is preparing what will apparently be named the Geforce GTX 700 series, but there is no major news. Instead, it is about existing graphics processors from the Kepler generation that return in a new form.

First of all, it is a GK110-based model that will probably be transformed into a Geforce GTX 780. This graphics processor is recognizable from today’s Titan, but in the new version it is about fewer CUDA cores in combination with 3 GB GDDR5 memory – half as much like in Titan.

This model is joined by the Geforce GTX 770 and 760 Ti, both with the GK104 graphics processor. The former variant is in practice a Geforce GTX 680 with a higher clock frequency while the sibling is based on today’s GTX 670. The newcomers contain a 256-bit memory bus and 2 GB of GDDR5 memory.

In terms of performance, the Geforce GTX 760 Ti “between the thumb and forefinger” is said to end up on a par with the GTX 680, while the GTX 770 should be equally factory overclocked models of the same graphics card. Thanks to more computing devices, the Geforce GTX 780 finally steps past even the most clocked variants of the Geforce GTX 680.

Geforce Titan lives on

Last but not least, it is noted that Geforce Titan will remain and continue to be the most lavish graphics card in Nvidia’s range. The launch of the new models takes place “just in time for the Computex trade fair”, which points to the period May – June.
