The graphics performance of the Galaxy S22 with the Exynos 2200 falls well short of the variant with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1

While AMD and Samsung promised that the AMD RDNA2-based Xclipse 920 GPU in the Exynos 2200 in the global Galaxy S22 would revolutionize graphics in smartphones, it looks like this is nowhere near happening as it hopefully outperforms the GPU in the global Galaxy S22. Exynos 2100 in the Galaxy S21, and it falls far behind the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 GPU in the US Galaxy S22.

According to tests by Erdi Özüağ, in 3DMark Wild Life the S22 Ultra with the Exynos 2200 scores 6684 points, slightly surpassing the 6256 points of the Exynos 2100, and far behind the 9548 points of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

In other tests such as GFXBench 1080p Manhattan 3.1, the Exynos 2200 can even fall behind the Exynos 2100, marking a regression compared to its predecessor, something clearly inadmissible.

Throughout his video Erdi Özüağ mentions that this could improve with a future software update that improves the performance of this GPU, although not knowing it, it really is risky to buy this phone paying so much money for a product equal to or less than from last year.

It will be interesting to see if AMD or Samsung provide any statement on the Exynos 2200’s poor graphics performance, and more importantly, if they have any plans for this to change. Otherwise, the image of the Galaxy S22 will not be positive and this will possibly affect its sales outside the United States.

What do you think about the poor graphics performance of the Exynos 2200? Do you think it will be able to improve with a future update?
