The latest GT Convertible from Bentley impresses with power and craftsmanship

I have the impression that you simply cannot pass by Bentley cars. The models of this manufacturer simply have “something” that is hard to find from the competition, which is confirmed by the latest GT Convertible, which impresses not only with power, but also with workmanship.

The noble lines of the body and the luxurious finish of the Bentley Continental series make it easy to forget about their belonging to the supercar segment. This latest addition to the series will retain what its predecessor coupe boasted, with its 6-liter twin-turbo V12 engine delivering 626 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque. In moments of boredom, the GT Convertible’s performance drops, but that is no coincidence, because its mechanism “closes” the six cylinders, reducing fuel consumption, of course. However, do not count on those from the small segment, because it is still about 14 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.

The engine itself is coupled to an eight-speed gearbox with a double clutch, the combination of which guarantees acceleration to a hundred in 3.8 seconds. The pleasure derived from driving is of course influenced by the mass of other mechanisms, including both proprietary and those available to all manufacturers. The interior, however, is unforgettable, and includes a 12.3-inch touch screen covered with three panels with elegant clocks, three audio levels based on 18 Naim speakers with a maximum power of 2200 W, an extensive heating system and, of course, a finish in which high-quality leather, wood and chrome elements dominate.

The fact that the new GT Convertible is a convertible that retracts and unfolds its roof in 19 seconds completes it. Driving in the fresh air will be the most pleasant, however, which is guaranteed not only by the engine, but also by a number of acoustic treatments that reduce noise … at “typical driving speeds”. Prices and details for the Continental GT Convertible offer have yet to be announced, but expect a quarter of the bubble to come down.
