the new notebook GPUs with Dynamic Boost

NVIDIA has announced the new line of Max-Q series laptops equipped with the GeForce GPU range RTX 2080 Super, 2070 Super and 2060 to be released in April 2020. In the wake of the success achieved with the past generation of notebooks, the company has decided to present a refresh of the technology capable of combining high performance with reduced consumption so as to provide the highest degree of performance even in contexts mobility.
On the other hand, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang recently praised the sales results of Max-Q laptops, defining this market segment as a new category of game in constant growth and comparing it in numerical terms to that of a real and own console.

A new level of performance

Born from the collaboration with the best manufacturers on the market, the new range of laptops equipped with NVIDIA Max-Q technology will present over the year more than one hundred new models able to meet the specific needs of users.
Although gaming remains the main target, the Californian company aims to provide maximum performance even in the workplace and creativity, thanks to the power of the GPU NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super is 2070 Super, for the first time in a mobile version, as well as the already run-in RTX 2060.
The new Max-Q technology brings a series of key features capable of maximizing the efficiency of laptops with various optimizations that transcend the mere "brute force" and touch new heights of refresh rates for displays, implementations of the management system of consumption and temperatures, up to introducing new image management algorithms.

The new era of Max-Q

The new Max-Q design rests its foundations on five key features: Dynamic Boost, low voltage GDDR6 memories, Advanced Optimus, new generation energy efficiency regulator, and support for DLSS 2.0. Dynamic Boost it breaks the limitations imposed by the system of each individual laptop model and allows the GPU and CPU to work in sync to always guarantee maximum power. Basically this technology distributes the energy loads dynamically for each individual frame, allowing the GPU to increase the TGP by 15 W and at the same time removing them from the CPU so as to balance consumption and maintain high performance, thanks also to the shared cooling system .
Advanced Optimus instead it regulates the use of the dedicated GPU, allowing the automatic transition to the integrated GPU when the loads to be managed decrease. In this new version, Optimus guarantees improved latency thanks to the support for G-Sync displays with panels that reach 4K resolution and with a frequency of 120 Hz. Finally, DLSS 2.0 which in portable version can improve in-game performance thanks to the new algorithm based on deep learning, while maintaining the level of image quality and ensuring a battery life of up to 20% more.

All the Line Up

The lineup offered by NVIDIA for 2020 consists of a total of 7 different GPUs that will feed over 100 products from various manufacturers with prices that should start from $ 699. To the already known GTX 1650, GTX 1660 Ti, RTX 2060, RTX 2070 are added for the first time the GTX 1650 Ti, the RTX 2070 Super and the RTX 2080 Super.

NVIDIA also talked about the new products of the RTX Studio line dedicated to professionals. The company has announced the arrival of 10 more products that can use the power and features of RTX with 45 professional software, for a declared performance increase that exceeds 10 times that of the normal CPU.
