The operator of Nord Stream 2 reduced the pressure in the second string of the gas pipeline

MOSCOW, 10 Oct – PRIME. The Nord Stream 2 operator, Nord Stream AG, has reduced the pressure in the second line as a precautionary measure, and will decide on further steps after an examination and discussion with the government agencies involved, the pipeline operator said.

“The Nord Stream 2 operator has reduced the pressure in line B to approximately 50 bar as a precautionary measure. Further steps will be determined based on the results of an examination of the gas pipeline lines and discussions with the government authorities involved,” Nord Stream AG said in a statement.

The attacks took place on September 26 at once on two Russian export gas pipelines to Europe – Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2. Germany, Denmark and Sweden do not rule out targeted sabotage. The Nord Stream operator Nord Stream AG reported that the state of emergency on gas pipelines is unprecedented and it is impossible to estimate the repair time. After the damage to the Nord Stream gas pipelines, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation initiated a case on an act of international terrorism.
