The RTX 3050 for desktop would arrive in 4GB and 8GB variants

Good news for those who were waiting for the GeForce RTX 3050: This new graphics card will come in two different editions, with 4GB and 8GB of VRAM respectively, having a slightly more accessible option for those on a budget, and a slightly more secure option for the future. by having more VRAM and making sure you can play the AAA games that come out in the next few years.

The information comes from the renowned leaker “kopite7kimi”, who assures that Nvidia will do something similar to what was done with the RTX 2060 6GB and RTX 2060 12GB with these new RTX 3050, and despite being called the same, the model with more VRAM will also have some extra Cuda Cores.

If the information provided by “kopite7kimi” is correct, the RTX 3050 8GB will be based on the GA106-150 core and will feature 2560 Cuda Cores and 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM, while the RTX 3050 4GB will be based on the GA106-140 core and It will feature 2304 Cuda Cores and 4GB of GDDR6 VRAM. From this it can also be inferred that the 8GB version will also have 20 RT Cores and 80 Tensor Cores, while the 4GB version will have 18 RT Cores and 72 Tensor Cores, so its performance with RT will not be too high, it won’t be bad at 1080p though. Finally, we estimate that both will have a 128-bit bus and GDDR6 VRAM at 14Gbps, having a bandwidth of 224GB / s, although this is not confirmed yet.

According to previous rumors, the RTX 3050 will be officially unveiled on January 4, and will hit the market on January 27, so we will surely have many more leaks on it in the coming weeks as we get closer to the date. Stay tuned to HD Technology to find out all about this entry-level model to the RTX lineup.

What do you think about these specs of the RTX 3050? Does it seem to offer 4GB and 8GB models with different amounts of Cuda Cores?
