On Steam, in April 2020, approximately one million more VR headsets were connected than in the previous month of March: thanks to Half-Life: Alyx?
The data reported by the portal RoadToVR, based on the monthly surveys published by Valve, they lack precise details and do not specify which game the "new" viewers were used on. It is however very likely that part of the growth is due to the release of Half-Life: Alyx that, debuted in late March, contributed to increase valve index sales.
Based on estimates, over 950,000 "new" viewers connected to Steam in April for a total of about 2.7 million VR devices used on the Valve platform: data that increase the total number of Steam users with a viewer by 1.9%.
In April, Oculus (44.36%) and HTC (30.3%) devices were the most used followed by the visors of Valve and Microsoft which recorded a percentage share of 11.9% and 8.5% respectively.
