The dating app Tinder officially under the magnifying glass of Europe to verify how users manage personal data. It is the Irish Data Protection Commission that announced the formal indemnity following complaints raised by various users not only in Ireland but also in other EU countries.
"The investigation of the DPC will deal with whether the company has the legal basis for processing its users' personal data and whether it respects the obligations as data controller with regard to transparency and compliance with the requests of the subjects rights holders "the official communication from the Irish authority. Obviously the standards involved are those established by the General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR.
The DPC, specifies, that its task is to actively monitor the complaints received from individuals in order to identify any problems, even systemic, in data protection. Match Group meanwhile has released an official statement: "The transparency and protection of personal data of our users of primary importance for us. We are fully collaborating with the Data Protection Commission we will continue to comply with the GDPR and all applicable laws".
