Turkish DIRCM system to destroy incoming missiles already on A400M

It was Turkish Aerospace Industries who enriched the design of the A400M aircraft, the production, development and maintenance of which is the task of the consortium. The company provided him with a DIRCM system to destroy incoming missiles.

TAI provided the A400M with the DIRCM Missile Defense System

The aforementioned A400M consortium includes Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Spain, Great Britain, Malaysia and Turkey, of which TAI owns 7% of shares in addition to companies such as British BAE Systems, German EADS or Belgian Flabel. DIRCM is an important announcement as it is also the first TAI contribution to the project under the program.

Going into detail, TAI designed, constructed and then integrated with the A400M, a heavy transport aircraft, a system for countering enemy missiles. On this occasion she stated that “A400M is now safer” and explained what exactly the DIRCM system is and how it works.

The new system will detect and destroy incoming missiles using a missile warning unit and on-board air defense systems. Thanks to the integration of the DIRCM system, the aircraft gained the ability to detect multiple missiles in a 360-degree range thanks to the ability to handle multiple targets.
