Valve may burst out laughing. The premiere of Aya Neo Next, a competition for Steam Deck

When Steam Deck was announced, we knew immediately that Valve would go to battle with producers like Ayaneo who would be forced to respond to this mobile computer of Steam owners. However, as the premiere of Aya Neo Next shows, apparently Valve has significantly jumped back from the competition.

Aya Neo Next will be sold through social campaigns starting in February. Even so, customers cannot count on low prices

The biggest problem with Aya Neo Next comes down to the price / hardware ratio. The company failed to acquire the latest Ryzen 6000U APUs for its products, which forced it to rely on the Ryzen 7 5800U “Cezanne-U” 8-core and 16-thread APU, which, instead of Zen 3+ and RDNA2 architecture, is based on Zen 3 and the antiquated basics of Vega.

There are as many as four different models with 16 GB to 32 GB of LPDDR4X-4266 memory and 1 TB to 2 TB of mass memory.

  • AYA Neo Next: 16 GB LPDDR4X / 1 TB – $ 1,315 retail / $ 1,265 campaign
  • AYA Neo Next Advance: 16 GB LPDDR4X / 2 TB – $ 1,465 retail / $ 1,365 campaign
  • AYA Neo Next Advance Signature Edition (limited to 300 copies): 16 GB LPDDR4X / 2 TB – $ 1,465 retail / $ 1,345 campaign
  • AYA Neo Pro: 32 GB LPDDR4X / 2 TB (500 copies) – $ 1,565 retail / $ 1,465 campaign

Unfortunately, individual versions are even more than two times more expensive than the Steam Deck, which is based on newer AMD hardware created especially for it (although Zen 2 in the case of the CPU, but RDNA2 in GPU), offers greater system support and more efficient operating memory. However, it is limited by the storage capacity itself.
